I hope you find this page welcoming, regardless of WHO or WHERE you are in your relationship with God.
I was born in Bogota, Colombia to a big, loud, Catholic family with no boundaries and no off-button. Authenticity, transparency, and bossiness runs in my bloodline. For over three decades, I have dedicated my life to the study of relationships, communication and conflict resolution. As a seasoned mentor, writer, communicator and women's group facilitator, (and a new widow momma of two little boys), I am eager to help other women walk through impossible battles as warriors of His kingdom.
I was taught at a young age to live by unshakeable faith and never hesitate to help someone in need. While acquiring my B.A. in English from the University of Central Florida, I became a freelance writer and helped launch a young professionals magazine in Orlando, FL as the senior editor. In 2002, my relationship column, “Sex and the City Beautiful” birthed “Dear Miss Mary,” a brand that follows me to this day.
Although my professional experience has been mostly in communications, event management, sales and marketing, I discovered my true calling when I began serving in youth and women’s ministry in 2008. This is when I launched CultureShock Magazine, a faith-based teen publication produced by the very teens in our city. I also had the amazing opportunity to travel for 6 years with the Women of Faith Conference, learning from some of the country’s most inspirational speakers, pastors, authors and national recording artists. When I wasn't traveling, I volunteered with the Tim Tebow Foundation helping them plan major events, and also participated in multiple missions, locally and internationally.
In the last decade, I have faced bankruptcy, depression, anxiety, PTSD and an extremely painful marriage filled with abuse, addiction, deception and now the loss of my husband. My hope is not just to testify of the miracle of FAITH, HOPE and LOVE through widowhood, but to BRING THE MIRACLE of peace, perspective and purpose to others facing impossible battles.
